next time out

exchanging my cheap fate
for a city by the lake
the wind around the corner
whipping me in place
the skeletons replaced
by concrete lives incased
jesus christ i miss you
jesus christ, i miss you
the hunger no longer calls
the expectations never calm
the smiles they never fall
for the ghost face full of frowns
eat sleep drink screw
motions blindly crawling through
jesus christ i hate you
jesus christ, i hate you
doesn't matter as hearts shatter
clattering splattering confidence wavering
when smoke clears in the morning
with teeth full of cavities
full throttle until the end
where dreams die and sleep begins
it always gets worse when i think it'll get better
but whether the weather shines
like the stars blanket across my mind
this time i'm sure i'll find
another reason another reason
but as days fade to gray
replaced by reciepts that say
how much little i've grown
back to habits i grow
breed breathe drink greed
nothing satifies like time
nothing reminds like time
jesus christ again
rise up and die my friend
