for deb's sister
(titled)
from the moment we first met,
inbetween drinks and cigarettes,
laughing about things we'd soon forget,
inside jokes no one would get.
mixed feelings mixed chemicals,
overwhelming uncontrollable,
questioned hesitant and so doubtful,
when i'd tell you how you're beautiful.
the words were true but made absurd,
through past failures you'd often heard,
i wanted to erase what you had learned,
and give you something that you deserve.
i didn't know where to begin,
there were no words and no actions,
struggling lost in traslation,
nothing known to help me win.
i didn't want to write a line,
that mirrored all the other lies,
you heard before from other guys,
and steal your heart an unfair crime.
finally it came one random day,
inspired by you and an old cliche,
i found the right words to say,
to describe you in your perfect way:
if a picture's worth a thousand words,
then it would take a thousand pictures to describe how beautiful you are.
