first time tonite

just like the movies

the beginning,
began like a movie,
film credits on the screen,
i don't believe i saw your name up there.
and the plot,
predictable like a clock,
was boring was it not,
i was watching i didn't really care.
then i stumbled into you,
for no reason i loved you,
when i wasn't looking,
back then i was always looking.

the next scene,
or maybe just a dream,
bit hazy and half asleep,
i can't tell what i saw and what i made up.
dancing the nite,
everything fell just right,
we didn't even have to try,
that day we finally had a bit of luck.
and as i fly with you,
i know you felt it too,
it was something different,
still don't completely understand.

the ending,
quick and suddenly,
didn't see it coming,
i heard some people like the twist.
you walked away,
you said you couldn't stay,
could it really end this way,
i never guessed it'd end like this.
i didn't follow you,
cause you didn't want me to,
you didn't belong here,
you didn't belong with me.
