curbdrop out of grace

napolean dynomite reminds me of a still born, but more exciting.

so.

everyone seems to be talking about napolean dynomite these days, which is sweet in the sense that it's a great movie and people should. but at the same time, people are over-quoting and it just seems like there's so much hype from the wrong people. like i'm hearing about how great this movie is from non-big lebowski fans. i don't understand. i would have thought they were one and the same. but it is not so.

somehow napolean is mainstream.

is it because it was released under the mtv production label?

is it because people are just wising up and tiring of the usual bull-shite?

one can only wonder.

i think there's two groups of people who have seen napolean dynomite. there's the "old school" group, the people that have always been fans of these types of movies and only watch these types of movies. this group is like an old vietnam war vet, with glaring eyes that say to the outsiders, "i've been here for a long time. what the fuck are you doing newbie?"

which brings us to our second group, the "tourists". and i don't mean to sound mean or give them a negative aura. but they are new. they are visiting. they like what they see, but honestly, it's only a vacation. they still love their bubblegum-simplelife-realty-pop-vj-cookiecutter-moneymaking-conforming-trash.

smile for the camera. one for the memories. it'll make a great christmas card.

and i bet these tourists wonder how a strange movie, like napolean, which they find utterly hilarioius, is created. who's the brains behind this anyway? it's so mysterious. and they wonder and don't get it because they are so dull and so average.

and then the superior-pompous-fuckheads like myself, the vets, think, hey, i could make a movie like this. IT WOULD BE JUST AS FUNNY.

but you're wrong. it wouldn't. and if it would, then why not make it? simple. you're/i'm overrated.

there i said it, now go jerk off (or for you ladies, go read a bible and think about how to be a better wife/girlfriend/slutbag).
